Fifth Grade Tessellations
These are examples of "Escher-like" translation tessellations
that were created by 5th graders at Normandale Hills Elementary in Bloomington,
MN. The students began with a square or rectangle and then translated
or used the slide method to cut a piece from one side of the square and
transfer it to the opposite side. They used this as a pattern piece to
repeat the design.
